Thanked: 2Second shave!!!!
Man o Man I'm hooked.... Today is my second shave with str8. I will probably get to only shave once a week. I don't have rapid facial hair growth like some of the other SRP brothers. Which kinda bums me out cause I can't justify purchasing any more razors to my wife... I already own 5 and I haven't even used 4 of them... But the more I thought about it... Since I only shave approc 52 times a year... I guess I'll be saving some $$ on honing fees. Instead of honing twice a year, I only hone every other year if I rotate my razors. Of course, if my stropping skills suck then I'll have to be Lynn's frequent customer...
Anyways, let me continue with my shaveing story...
I lathered up, the boars brush (didn't get my AOS badger yet. Still waiting from the Ebay seller) with AOS sandlewood soap. Put on some AOS pre shave oil (unscented) . Sloshed on the lather, put the Dovo to the strop a few times and off I went.
I went wtg the on first pass. Lathered up again and went atg. I had to spend some time on the upper lip area. I felt like I was scaling fish scales.... I didn't have to exert much force to cut the hairs.. I think It was more like getting the blade in a position where it could get at the hair. When I felt the blade connect with the hair, a simple movement and it cut.
After I wiped down, I put on some L'occitane balm and I tell you I felt so PROUD!!! No nicks, no blood, NOTHING!!!... The first time I shaved, I nicked a couple of pimples so I didn't look untarnished... But I swear after today it felt so smooth. I went to my client's and I was showing off the smooth shave to the admin assists there. They made comments " It's so smooth", "No stubble", " Feels like baby skin"...
I told them straight razor is where it's at. It's the way MEN are supposed to shave.
I can't wait to try my other Dovo and the other razors Lynn is honing for me!!!
