Thread: how long do your shaves last

I shaved with a DE the last couple of days and I am stubbly after 12 hours. patchy but visible stubble. Damn it all.

How long do you guys stay representable when you shave with a straight?? I think I am good for a little longer I usually dont feel like I need another shave until bed, and then I wait until the morning.

My beard lasts longer with a straight as well. Some guys claim, or used to, that they could go two days with a straight. That was never the case for me.

With a DE I want to shave again in the evening. I can open up a DE pretty seriously and extend it out a little.

I see, I may go shaving right now, its a little late, and I would probably want to shave when I get up. But oh well.

With a Mach 3 I got a 9am shadow if I shaved at 6.30am.
A DE would take me to early afternoon.
With a straight - very much depending on the blade I use - I tend to feel I need a shave in the late evening.

The above is only for WTG shaves. I avoid ATG like the plague, due to the monster ingrown hairs that I get.

Personally, I go days... like usually 3-5 before a fresh shave, but then again, I've not yet truly shaved with a straight, and have never even tried a DE. Plus, I could probably use a shave every day. I typically go clean-stubble-stubble-clean or some similar variation.
Like so many other things, it's extremely dependent on the individual, their preferences, technique, etc.

I usually showered and shaved in the evening when I got home from work, about 6 p.m. This shave would leave me with about a DE shaves worth of stubble the next morning and 5 o-clock shadow by about, well... 5 P.M. . If I have a important meeting or church I will shave in the morning. If I am going out the same evening I can get stubble off my face again 8-10 hours leaving it completely BBS but It is only worthwhile for a really special occasion like an anniversary dinner where I expect my face to be felt not just seen. After doing that though I make darn sure to to wait at least 24 hours before I shave again or we will have burn

I normally shave every morning Monday through Friday. On weekends, usually Saturday evenings and not at all on Sunday. This may change depending on circumstances, but this is the usual routine. I have on occasion, skipped a weekday morning if I'm pressed for time and have nothing going on in the evening.

I shave every morning Mon-Friday Sometimes don't shave over the weekend so I can get a great shave Monday morning. It lasts the whole day most times unless I don't do a good job.

A quick and dirty shave aka non-BBS will last me about a day. BBS will last me at least 2 days. Lately I haven't really been going for BBS- maybe my subconscious wants to shave more often

A 3 pass shave WTG, XTG, ATG will last me through the next day.
I will usually shave after 36hrs if I have done a 3 pass shave.

BTW - my subconscious is constantly shaving.
Good thing there is such thing as mental razor burn.
