    Default leaving conditioner on

I tried lathering right over the conditioner I applied in the shower and liked it quite well. Does anybody else do this and could it have a negative effect on a badger brush?

I leave it on while I'm soaping up, but I rinse it off before lathering up for the shave because I don't want the conditioner's scent to mix with the soap's scent.

    Matt,

I stopped using conditioner quite some time ago. Someone on one of the forums posted recently that his barber ended the shave by applying conditioner and leaving it on. As far as hurting the brush, it is hair conditioner, and your brush, if badger or boar, is simply hair! There should be no ill effects. In fact, Em at emsplace.com has a couple of videos about brush care, in which you will see conditioner applied directly to the brush as part of the cleaning process!
