Thread: One hand, or Two?

I hadn't thought of using both hands while shaving until I opted to try a srt8. I watched Lynn's DVD several times and poked around here for some time and picked up that using both was recommended.
When I 1st started using a str8, using the left hand felt odd but quickly became 2nd nature. Now I can't imagine how I would be able to maintain proper angles and see what I'm doing using just the right hand.
Right on the right side WTG, left on the left WTG. For the chin, near the adams-apple and under the nose, I use just my right. I finish up by using opposing hands for ATG on the cheeks (left hand shaving upward on the right cheek and vice-versa).
Only place I still haven't figured out is how to hold a proper angle with either hand and try to shave along the jaw line. I need to get closer by shaving from the back of the jaw toward the chin but I just can't seem to contort into the right position! Time and patience......

I use both hands. I am right handed and other than shoot a handgun weak handed, shaving is the only other thing I do.
Whatever you do, don't try shaving with your feet, nasty cuts, threw my back out...
Maybe that's a topic for another thread...

I have been using two for a week or two now. It really isn't that hard since I have no bad habits or anything yet. I'm glad I am learning before I get to far involved.

Thanked: 0Well for bout 3 months been using just the one hand. So today I let the right hand take a few strokes, the first was a little tense, almost like the first time I held a straight up to my face w/t the good hand.
when it comes to other things though I can say I am pretty much a switch hitter, and good at everything. HaHa.

Guess I must be the freak of the clan. I shave the left side with the right hand and vice versa. I also shave against the grain so I am going from the jaw line up toward my eye. So my hand is never in front of my eyes and I can see the blade for the entire stroke, same for the neck. Neckline to chin/jaw line.

On ATG I use left for right but still right for right. I guess I could use my left hand more but I feel better using the right

Thanked: 0My handedness is a general muddle; I e.g. write and play guitar left-handed, but do many other things right-handed. That relative ambidextrousness makes hand-swapping shaving pretty painless, so both hands for me, with all duties being shared equally or as desired

Thanked: 11I shave with both hands. The strange thing is that I can shave better with my left than I can with my right/dominant hand!!!
