Thread: Finally got my girlfriend to use the straight!!

So, I couldn't yet convince her to use it on her legs, but I did get her to shave the back of my neck with it. I showed her in detail what to do and not to do, let her get the feel of it, then rubbed a bit of shaving cream in with some water and let her go to work. It was funny to feel her gaining confidence as she was moving from one side of my neck to the other. By the time she finished she was shaving like I would have.

Good experience, just thought I'd share. Hopefully I can get her to try her legs sometime or let me do them

My wife asked me this morning if I would shave her legs. I am not too sure if I am confident enough with my self to try that just yet.

I think you guys are on the wrong track. You just need the buy in on how much better a job it does on you. If you get SWMBO to start using it, now you will always be wondering if she used it and dulled it , the same we as happened when you used multi blade razors or even a DE. Str8s are the last refuge of men IMHO. We deserve to be stingy about some things.

Well much as there are pink disposables marketed to women... i'm sure we could get Gary (Traveller) to whip ups a batch or two on his scales in lady-like pink... maybe with a flowery design...

I had my wife shave my head on Sunday with my 6/8 Dovo. I gave her a 30 second lesson on how to hold it and some do's and don'ts and she was off. She did a great job and didnt even as much as nick me. I think you have a point about str8's being a mans refuge Brad, but my theory is if I can stir her interest in them, it buys me some more latitude to acquire more of them. My wife will never use them for her legs...I dont think anyway. But at least if she understands my addiction she will be less likely to question my reasons for having so many. Up until now she has sided with my son who asked me: "how come you need so many razors when you only have one face?" Hard to answer that one...

I think this would be my reason. Mine will gladly clean up my neck area with a straight. I just recently started using it on my face and am trying to get her into it to mask any ADs that might ensue. I let her pick some soap scents and after shave just to peak some interest.

Well, if anyone is interested, I have a pink scaled razor I could be convinced to part with. No seriously, I actually do, and GSSixGun has one too!
