My only reason for not doing my chin first is that I find it a little awkward to shave it while I have lather all over the rest of my face. I like to have bare skin available so I can stretch it as necessary.

Still, I should give this a shot.

Good point! I have the same problem with the chin. but I need to be able to stretch the skin to avoid getting nicked...I'll give anything a shot though. Anyone else ever try the chin first?

Still shaving the chin area first and it's still working. After this morning's shave for example, I just can't believe how smooth my chin is. And, today's shave.....absolutely no irritation. No sting from the alum block whatsoever!

Here's my method for still allowing me to stretch my skin: I lather my whole face, then to the right and left of my chin on my cheeks, I make a XTG pass about 1 1/2" wide (blade is vertical during this pass). This gives me plenty of room then to stretch the skin before making the sideways passes on my chin.

So, I guess technically I can't say I'm literally starting to shave my chin first, but it's the first area I really concentrate on.

I will continue this method. As for me, clearly handling the most challenging area (my chin) when my razor is at its sharpest is working very well.

My sentiments exactly. I leave the chin for last on both
    my WTG and XTG passes.

I think I need to clarify my clarification here. By using the above method of making a very short XTG pass on each cheek starting at the middle of my cheeks toward my chin but just up to the edges of my chin, I have totally clear areas of my cheeks then to allow for any amount of stretching my chin that I feel I need to.
