Thread: One Pass?

I've been having fun with my straight seeing how close a shave I can get with 2 and 3 passes but wonder....

After the honing furor subsides do most of you do a one pass shave on work days and save a close shave for special occasions?

I do two passes regularly! The first pass is good enough and the second pass just makes sure that the first was good enough!

I always do two passes then 3 on the weekends!

Two passes for a close shave and 3 passes for a longer lasting shave.

I'm a 3 pass guy 7 days a week. My beard is very heavy and I need the 3 pass to make sure I've gotten all of the hairs.

+1. Unless you have a light beard, it's not likely your shave will look good for long with one pass.

One pass for me, every morning. It's really good for about 36 hours, but I usually shave every day. The trick for me is:

1) Good prep

2) Good stretching - keep your stretching hand close to the razor

3) Use a scything motion so that the razor slices instead of chops the hairs

4) Go over each area twice with a slight change in he direction of attack

Three passes for me generally every
other day.

My routine is 3 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG) every 36 hours.

I have no routine yet. The only thing that's been the same is I do my shave at night after my shower.
