Hi guys.

While i'm still learning to shave and hone, i've been wondering about what angle to shave at. I've been restoring the antique razor i own, a puma 225, and i began to wonder if the razor was actually sharp but my technique was bad.

I know Lynn says you should shave at around 30 degrees, which on my 2cm wide razor equates to keeping the center of the spine about 1cm off my face/neck. This seems a bit much to me, as when i get to these broad angles i find the razor scrapes more. But perhaps my razor is actually blunt. Personally i've probably been keeping the razor at half this angle which scrapes less.

Anyway, to get to the point, how much of a gap do you feel that you keep between the razor spine and your face, i know you don't have eyes on the back of your head but i find i can visualize the gap easier than the angle i'm producing.

Thanks
