Thread: Straight Razor Shaving Article in London's Metro newspaper

For all London (UK) readers, you may be interested to know there was an article in today's Metro paper on straight razor shaving, page 17.

I'll try and post a scan of the page over the weekend if I get a chance.

Is it on the website? I can't seem to find it...would be interested in reading it!

I had a look on the site earlier and it looks like there's nothing there currently. However, they have articles from yesterday's equivalent columns, so there's hope yet - maybe check back tomorrow and see if they have it.

Anyway, I will try and hold on to my copy and try and scan it in and upload it here over the weekend.

It's not that detailed, but there are quotes in there from the head barbers at Geo F Trumpers along with some quite good recommendations on consumables.

Yep, I spotted that too. There are a couple of things I found interesting and some products listed which look like they're worth trying.

Rum and I are clearly thinking of the guys at SRP... I brought it home to scan too! Not sure if it will upload though... just going to give it a try.

Wow, look at what it says about Castle Forbes Lime cream. The choice of "male models" who want a closer more long lasting shave for HDTV. That's quite an endorsement. I have that cream but I didn't think it gave a closer shave than say, a good shaving soap or any other quality cream for that matter. Fabulous stuff to be sure but not marginally better than the other top shelf stuff IMHO.

I like that line though about the cut-throat razor being better for the skin. As a person with sensitive skin I agree whole-heartedly.
