The pencil was great for making my eyes water. Didn't do that much for the cut.
I would take pics of the cut, but my camera is borked at the moment. I tried with my phone, but the pictures were all blurry. You'll just have to take my word for it.

I had a rather nice little cut last night myself. I stopped the shave for a moment, whipped out the trusty styptic, wet it, dabbed it on the laceration (OOoooooh tyhat feels good), and it stopped bleeding pretty much right away. However, it was not such a deep cut.

Yes, it was wet before using. I tried it several times, but it just kept bleeding. The scab is already gone, so I doubt a scar will show up.
