Thanked: 0I think men, or the majorty of men feel that having hair makes them feel manly. I remember when I was just starting to be able to grow some decent facial hair, I felt like I was the hottest thing. I felt large, manly looking back, its really quite silly. I mean look at burt reyonlds back in the 80s and such, with his main of chest hair.
For women, I can understand the reason for shaving. Women are supposed to be sleek, smooth...its sexy. Not like the women of the spartan area who probably could kill lions with their own bare hands. As for the land from down under...for those intimate times, lets see if i can do this without being well too descriptive.... It just makes things easier....there. But i argee its a trend, things 50 years from now may be completely different.

Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

Originally started for tick flea, and lice control.Thats why everything was shaved, head included. In a lot of places thats still the cure for crab lice. Most prostitutes are clean shaven for that reason.Best Regards Gary

Hey everyone! I've been on vacation for the past week and, for once, I didn't take my computer so it would be a true vacation. I missed this National Geographic program on shaving. Did anyone see it?

Didnt get to see it myself, but heard that it was somewhat disappointing, heard that it just barely showed anything to do with straights. BTW have you gotten your kit together yet, if so hows it going?

Is it the same one they aired some time ago, with the history of gilette and disposables?
The one where someone claims it is physically impossible to shave yourself with a straight?
The one where someone is stropping his razor in a way that would make me kick his ass if it was one of mine?
In that case you didn't miss anything terribly important.
It's fun to see the 'progress' in shaving though.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

Well, I don't feel so bad for missing the episode then. Besides, I'd rather pop in Lynn's DVD and actually learn something about straights anyway.
I just received my Wade Butcher Bow Razor in the mail and it's all honed and ready to go with new cherry scales. I took it for a minor test drive and it does well but I'll post more when I have the time to take it for a proper drive. My NOS Wapi is in the mail on its way back to me from being honed as well. I'm looking at Tony Miller's 4 sided paddle strop, but it's going to have to wait a few weeks... and then there's soaps, and a brush, and etc, etc, etc. For now, I'm content though.
