My shaving program (in the dorms)
As a college RA who wetshaves, I had at idea for a program where I would give away DE kits and teach my residents how to shave. I started a thread it the BST and received generous donations. As a result, I was able to put together and give out six complete DE and SE kits.
The program ran as follows. I got a number of residents together and gave a brief overview of wetshaving. I showed them both straight and DE kits, explained the things in common and the differences. I discussed shaving prep, lather development, shaving technique, and the deprep.
I then gave out kits to the first residents who signed up, and did a demo shave. I had wanted to shave with a DE to show them technique that they could apply, but they were more interested in seeing me shave with a straight. Since I prefer straights, I was happy to oblige. After I shaved, one of the residents volunteered to shave himself as I watched and commented.
I'd say the program was a success, thanks to the generous contributions of members here and over at B&B. If there are other forum members who also work in ResLife, this would be a great program to try out.

Wow, you deserve some serious kudos for organizing that intro to shaving.
I know that when I was entering college there were a lot of guys who had no clue how to shave themselves. There were a lot of chapped faces, bloody messes and toilet paper splotches on many a face. Maybe pride prevented them from asking for help from a more knowledgeable source, but in my experience, a group-lesson tends to erode some of the intimidation of asking for assistance.
Again, serious kudos to you. I hope your programs gains popularity and helps introduce many more guys to the world of straight razor shaving!

Thanks for the kind words fellas. I'm graduating this year, but if all goes according to plan I'll still be in the area and I hope to come back to run a program for the incoming frosh in the fall.
