    Default My First Cut

Just a quick report on my first real cut! It was the first pass this evening with my wapi. I was on the right side of my chin and the toe sliced right down the middle of my jaw. It's a north to south cut about a centimeter and a half long. It bled a bit so I put applied some pressure with TP and just worked around it for the second pass. After a month at it and only a hand full of minor nicks, I have to say, it almost felt good.

    Cheers everyone,

    Cheers everyone,

This is a cut I've given myself a few times.

Well done Dave! Now you have your first real cut out of the way you don't have to worry about not knowing how it feels.

You remind me of a student I had in my lab years ago who told me she really liked having her blood drawn. She kind of left me speechless too.

Good luck with the shaving and be very, very careful!

Don't get the wrong idea here. I'm no sadist, I just thought that my first real cut would have come well before a month into the straight shaving. What I meant was it felt good to get the first one out of the way finally as I knew it would happen sooner or later. I am a chef so I over the years I have sustained a few nice lacerations. With razors, as with sharp chef knives, you hardly feel the cuts due to the super sharp edges. Thanks for the advise, I will be very careful. The cuts should remind us never to become complacent to the fact that we shave with some pretty dangerous tools no matter how long we have been using them!

Happy and safe shaving to all,

I've got the same cut on either cheek while I was doing my mustache area. I let the tip get away from me, and I paid for it. I think everyone has gotten their fair share of those.

Yup, glad to say I got mine out of the way the first shave. Then it was the chin on the second <g>

Once first blood is drawn, one should exercise even greater caution as I'm convinced some of these blades become vampire like after that first taste.

Why do suppose I wear a silver cross when shaving?
