    Default Calendula Scarless healing cream

    Hey Guys,

Not sure if anyone else has heard of this stuff but my naturopathic girlfriend put me onto it and it's fantastic for any sort of cuts you get on your face from shaving. It's a cream with Calendula flowers in it and sometimes other additives like st. johns wart. It's an antiseptic and it makes things heal really fast without scaring. If you get one of those big line cuts it will be gone in liek 5 days and there'll be no sign of it. Apparantly you can use it on old scars to make them go away but i haven't tested that one out.

You need to get it from a health food / naturopathic store. I saw it in a pharmacy but it was pretty expensive. I got a little 50g tub for $12AU. Check it out, i swear by it.

Hey Orfeo, could you ask your girlfriend specifically about that claim re. old scars, and whether it is true? I have a couple souvenirs of my climb up the learning curve. I used vitamin E on them while they were healing, so they're very faint & I have to be in the right light to even see them. But they're pretty big & I'd like to fade them some more if it's possible. They're about 2 years old.

I'll ask her again, but basically she had this one teacher who was a plant guy who grew all his own herbs and made all his own herbal drugs. Anyway, he told her that you can use them on any old scar and they will go away. So whether it's proven fact i can't gurantee. But i did have a couple of straight line marks on my cheek that just didn't seem to be going away, they'd been there for like 1-2 weeks. And i put this stuff on (this was well after they had healed) and in a matter of days they were gone. Now these weren't deep scars or anything but they did seem like they were there to stay.

So i would say give it a try, it'll be like 10 bucks to get a tub, you can apply it to a max of 6 times a day, but my girlfriend just applies it to this chicken poc scar on her arm every night before she goes to bed.

EDIT: SO I SPOKE TO MY GIRLFRIEND AND I GOT IT WRONG. HER TEACHER TOLD HER TO PUT ON CASTOR OIL ON OLD SCARS TO HEAL THEM, NOT CALENDULA CREAM. I STLL STAND BY IT'S USE AS A GOOD CUT HEALER BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT WOULD DO ANYTHING ON YOUR REALLY OLD SCARS.

People touting scar healing medicine always look at me and shake their heads. My "Scars, tattoos and identifying marks" page in my military medical record has an addendum.

One of my buddies says at least they won't have to worry about trying to figure out which parts are mine. The little finger of my right hand and my right foot my be a little tough, but everything else will be pretty obvious.
