I can see you are a candidate for RAD ( razor acqusition disorder). But now you need to get some other soaps too.
There are two wonderful ladies on site (Mama Bear and The soap mistress) that sell shaving soaps and shaving creams that are terriffic.
I am happy to hear that your shaving went so well. My first time it looked like I had been mugged by a crazed cat.. .
Really nice looking razor too. Enjoy and welcome.

Thanked: 6Hehe well the funny thing is, I been shaving like 11 times or so nog since I bought it. And I still have not cut myself. But each time I dont, I get one step closer to my first cut.
I got a great soap and brush now that I like alot.
And I am starting to be able to relax while I shave, thats a kind of meditation feeling to it.
The first time sweat was pooring down my forehead because I where so focused.

It is ok,I get a good shave in my face but I have some problem areas on my neck/chin where my beard is dense. The razor "pulls" the hair in those areas. The razor could be sharper.
I'm planning on buying the norton 4k/8k stone like you did and try to get it sharper.
I really like using the straight but the razorburn I get on the neck kind of ruins it.
Can't wait to shave with at sharp razor that does'nt "pull"...=)

Hi Denno!
Congratulations on your first few shaves. You will learn more & it will get easier every shave. Your no-blood-loss is impressive but it will not last, my friend. Your starter kit looks good. Do not worry about not being good enough to use the brush & cream. When you do use them, you will appreciate the improvement in your shave. Your lather will get thicker & smoother if you use less water to make it.
Welcome to SRP. Much fun & insanity is to be had here

Well... I guess that I'm now an official ex-virgin, as well.
I've been buying a few things for my older son who's on this list-- see bpave777-- and I got bitten by the straight-razor-curiosity bug. I bought some Classic shaving cream, a 4-sided box strop and a 5/8 Timor by Giesen & Forsthoff, Solingen (there's something about humble blued steel that reminds me of guns and the military). My son gave me a sample of Truefitt & Hill shave oil, but I flat forgot to use it. I muddled through some stropping and then lathered-up.
I guess I made every shaving mistake in the book, but I ended up with a very clean, smooth shave... plus a couple of facial dings and a small slice wound at the tip of my right chin-bottom. Not knowing any better, I shaved downwards, upwards and sideways, lathering up quite a bit and keeping everything slicked-up and wet. Except for the stinging of a Pinaud pencil, I feel pretty good about it. I'll be needing to change my name to Scarface soon, but I guess I could have done much worse in the half-hour spent (asking and re-asking myself why I'm doing this).
I'll give it a couple of days and then go to Bjorn's house and learn to do it the right way. Oh... did I tell you that I'm Polish? That could explain a few things, right?
