The ultimate shave
Well, sorry to break the news but some dude has the the straight beat and gets the ultimate shave. I happened to be perusing the web and no I didn't save the link, it had nothing to do with shaving but this guy burns the whiskers off his face. He just uses a lighter. It gives a new meaning to the term "razor burn".

Just when you think you have it figured out,BAM-another briliant solution to the ever elusive "perfect shave".
And just think, I hammered my plastic this month buying TWO Joe Chandler customs.

Owww. That has to hurt. I can see how it would work - but I can't imagine that the learning curve would be /much/ more painful than using a straight razor. And... what about the lather, and the brushes, and all the fun toys?!

Somewhere on here, there is a thread called "shaving timeline." One of the methods it mentions (and I think it's mentioned in Lynn's DVD as well) is the burning of facial hair. IIRC, they used to use hot coals, but I guess these days a lighter would work. I thought that, with the passing of the bronze age (at the latest), men would give up on burning and opt for shaving, but it seems to be time to toss that theory out the window.
