Thanked: 124Hate to raise an old thread from the dead, but I did a good one yesterday. Was using my index finger to wipe mineral oil on the blade & was going too fast b/c I was getting ready to go out, and what do I suddenly see arcing through the air, to land in my lathering bowl? A teeny little piece of the tip of my index finger.
be careful out there, gents. These things are facking SHARP.

No kidding!! I've only been at it for a few months, and had my share of cuts, but nothing that didn't heal in a day or two....nothing like you guys are talking about!
I would definitely be deterred from trying the straight if I thought all of those injuries were common place. There should be a "NEWBIE BEWARE" warning at the beginning of the thread.

Nicked a mole once; those bleed like nothing else; other than that I sometimes get a hairline cut from letting the razor slip a little going over my cheekbones
