What's in your rotation?
There are so many great shavers, so I'm curious. What's in your rotation? If you don't have a rotation, then what are your favorite shavers at the moment? Here's mine, listed in no particular order of preference:
TI (Evide Sonnant Extra) 6/8
Bismarck Dovo 6/8
Gens Spike 6/8 (Snakewood Handles)
Walter Eigenbrod 6/8
2 Revisors 7/8
Revisor 6/8
J. A. Henckels 6/8
Erik Anton Berg Eskilstuna 6/8 (Ivory Handles)
E.V. Neistrom Eskilstuna 4/8 (nog shaver)
My rotation is always changing. Just today I had a wonderful shave with a 5/8 Swede (near mint with bakelite handles won on ebay for 22 USD) and enjoyed a really smooth and close shave. Others waiting to be honed up for a try are a couple of Gencos, a small Gold bug (3/8 nog shaver) etc...the list goes on. The wide variety of great shavers available makes this a really fun hobby.

Hal,
I was just going through eveything last night trying to decide just that.....My Favorites. I have nearly 40 razors counting an ERN 7 day set but typically use the same 4.
I prefer rounded points but sadly all of my best razors are square point. I actually want to pick out the best round points and sell off the square points to have the cash to only buy round points if I can keep my will power intact with all the cool stuff popping up on ebay.
So far my favorites are:
6/8 Dovo Special (white handle/gold washed blade version)
7/8 Lutz
7/8 Wostemholm "meat chopper"
7/8 Wade & Butcher "For Barbers Use"
Later tonight or tomorrow I was going to post my trade stock in the Trade/For Sale area and maybe find some round points to trade for.

Rotation??
Rotation? whats that
Humm.. my rotation is as follows:
- Monday; 5/8 DOVO Pearlex
- Tuesday; 5/8 DOVO Pearlex
- Wednesday;5/8 DOVO Pearlex
.... wait.. thats all I have Is a 5/8 Pearlex
I really want to try at least one size smaller (since I do have a light beard, it may just be "enough" blade) and at least one size larger, or more (7/8, 8/8 ) just to get a "feel" now that I am confident that I can obtain at least a decent edge its time to expierement with some different blades.
So I'll be watching the Buy/sale/trade forum in the comming month :P *hint hint*

Thanked: 0Rotation
in order of favorite
Clauss (5/8 I think, with a square tip)
Clauss (4/8 I think, with a rounded tip)
TI from Ray... just a basic model
Fulton Cutlery
Dovo "Best Quality"... again from Ray
Westenholm "Conqueror"
A "Rocket" from Shefield
and sadly... last and least is my DD Satinedge that shaves ok, but not as good as the others and I just don't like it. Maybe my expectations were too high.

My regular rotation includes:
5/8 Clauss
5/8 JR Torrey
5/8 Dubl Duck Special #1
6/8+ Henckels Friodur
They are all nice shavers. I seem to nick myself more with the Friodur than the others. Granted, it's fully twice the weight of the 5/8 (according to the cheapo kitchen scale my wife has).

My current rotation is as follows:
5/8 Dovo Burgdorf
5/8 Crown & sword
5/8 Fromm #50
5/8 Puma Inox Special
5/8 Dovo Astrale
5/8 Puma 75
5/8 Puma 14
I change at least two every month and I'm always adding more razors as I get them honed.
