"Like back-scratching, shaving is an act much more easily performed on others than on oneself. Which explains why our grandfathers went to the barber for a shave"
What?
All of a sudden, each time a man needed a shave he headed to his barber? That would cost him a fortune...
From time to time, yes, a man would get a barber shave, but most of the time he would shave himself, right?

i could see asking someone advice, in person or online...or a dvd even. but the best way is to learn yourself. i know my parents weren't shelling out money for me to learn how to ride a bike. i fell, with a scraped knee, probably cried a little bit. then, i tried again.
like with shaving with the cutthroat, i've cut myself. adjusted after seeing how i cut myself, since it wasn't that hard to figure out, and tried again.
i wonder how many barbers pre-1960, even way earlier, would charge their patrons to teach them how to shave.

Thanked: 1If you look at the pictures, they're using the kind where you insert the replaceable blade. So he didn't even get to use the genuine article for his 70 bucks.
