my grandpa brought me a fiilarmoniica from spain and i have never heard of them so not sure if they are good or not but he looked hard to find me a straight razor.i shaved only my neck today and i know my angle wasnt very good but all in all it wasnt as bad as i expected. i bled a little but it wasnt a terrible shave. are these razors good and worth shaving with though?

You're Grandpa was very nice to you. THat is a very nice razor. Just a month or so ago the price on these razors jumped way up upon notice that the factory was not making anymore. On Ebay you will find a filarmonica going for 80 - 150 bucks, or more. It wan't too rare to see them go over 250 a month or so ago. Be sure you thank Grandpa for the very nice and special gift.

Man, please do not listen to these guys. Filarmonicas are awful razors, I have a nice Zeepk for trade. Of course if you are willing to cover for the difference in value. ;-)

Seriously, they are superb! but you have to hone it first if you have not done so already. There are people in the classified section that offer honemeister services. You also need a strop. Once you take care of a few details, you will enjoy a great shaver. There was a recent post in the newbie section tittled something like woohoo. There is a lot of info about the shaving part.

By the way, is you Filarmonica new?

    Al raz.

Its funny, when I bought my Filly from Classic Shaving about 3 years ago they said they had stopped making them then. They are still selling these and saying they just stopped making them.Kind of like the store that keeps having fire sales.

They are very good razors but if you just got it I would doubt its shave ready. Also they can be tricky to hone properly.
