How do you make shaving cream warm or hot?

I personally don't heat my shaving cream, I just put my shaving brush in REALLY hot water while I shower. That way when I lather up the brush is really hot and it makes the cream nice and hot too!

A Daisy cup warmer works well. The lather is warmer on the third pass than the first.

I keep my bowl in a water bath in this bad boy...

It's about four inches across, just right.

I use hot tap water and a small Moss scuttle. I fill the Moss and let the brush sit in the hot tap water while I shower. Dump the contents and refill after the shower and it keeps the lather just right for me throughout the shave. Before I had the Moss I used to use a small bowl for the lather sitting in a larger bowl filled with hot tap water. Both methods worked well but the Moss more compact and it is pretty.

Make your lather in a mug or vessel with somewhat high sides, so the lather can collect on the sides. Set that mug in a pan of hot tap water, most anything from the kitchen pan or bowl supply will do. Make sure it is large enough for enough water to hold heat for a while, shallow enough that the cup does not float around, not so deep that the water sloshes over the top of the mug. This will give you much better lather to start out with, and as long as that water stays warm, the lather will stay warm. Some guys use boiling water, but if you do it will melt glycerin soaps in very short order. Hot tap water is fine, replenish it occasionally if it is not staying hot enough. If you like these results you can move onto scuttles, crock pots, candle warmers, all sorts of workable temptations out there.

Sounds like you need to get up earlier!
