I tried shaving on some new directions today.
The result was better than the last shave, closer and less irritation.
Not quite as good as my "great shave" but I'm getting there!

Thanked: 21I get that pretty often going N to S on my neck. S to N is not a problem normally. The weird part is that the whiskers lay from the left toward the right, so I've never done a real ATG pass on my neck.

I get neck irritation if I do a WTG before the ATG on my neck. No irritation if I do a proper ATG for starters and then just touch up the swirls on my neck (my beard grows in a little tornado shape on the right side of my neck). Try it and see if you like it!

Thanked: 16I to am battling with getting a BBS shave with two little patches on either side of my Trachea. Smooth wiping WTG sure but against just can't get there w/o risking irritation yet think I'm going to keep playing with different directions/stretching.
Now with regards to that challenge how can I convince Bart that Nair for men is really an amazing pre and post shave lotion....
and then what do I do to avoid irritation from it...Last edited by FreyGrimrod; 01-18-2009 at 07:24 PM.

Thanked: 16I was referring to a brand name of depilatory product that dissolves the hair in place.

Yikes, that sounds disgusting. I suspect they mix a bit of that in those cans of mainstream shaving gel...
Certainly not worthy of a bottle of Belgium finest beer, left alone a whole case.
By the way, has any one ever tried dipping a blade in acetone and lighting it right before the start of the shave? I'm sure it deals with any remaining stubble.

I tried using pre-shave oil from The Art of Shaving, and it resolved almost all of my irritation, and left my face feeling nice and moisturized. Try it some time!
