How does it help exactly? Does it show you missed spots?

The magnification really helps for inspecting the edge. Also when you difficult areas like the chin, neck or right under your nose, you get much better control of your moves. And, yes its easy to see missed spots.

    You mean before the shave?

So it helps you set the direction and angle of the razor?

We've got one in the bathroom & i find that on the magnified side i just can't judge the distance of the razor in relation to my skin. After a several near misses & a few cut's for good measure i decided to leave it well alone when it comes to the shave!

I actually do my honing on the bathroom, and I use the mirror with light over it to check the edge.(I also use a jewelers loop, but the mirror is good for a fast inspection.)

Yes, basically it helps me getting a better shave.

Just a matter of getting used to.I find it very uncofortable to shave in a normal mirror now

I like using a shaving mirror for the fact that I no longer find myself stretching to get closer to the vanity mirror!
risking a slip and potential problems...
I like to stay close to the mirror when I shave but really don't care for the magnification side much for shaving with.
Having one that can be adjusted to stay in the perfect spot is just another thing to smile about. ink:
