Shower vs. hot towel.
So what is in your opinion the best prep? A hot shower or a hot towel? I actually prefer to use both, .But if I just do one of them, I seem to get a much closer/smoother shave with a hot towel.I use two hot towels, one after applying pre shave, and one after lathering up first time.

Hot shower - no, I don't spend that much time in there
Pre shave oils - no, no bigger advance in here
Hot towel and oils etc - no, just because it takes too much time
Hot shower + conditioner - Yes
I shave every day.

Thanked: 4942To me the shower is my every day prep. When I really want relax and enjoy the whole experience, I'll do the towels after the shower. Nice hot one to start, then lather up and another hot towel, then lather and shave and then a nice cold towel after the shave.. Totally awesome experience

I assume that you have a mirror in that shower, or are we talking extreme shaving? :-)

Thanked: 1195Just like your DVD, Lynn, and it does look very relaxing. I'll have to give it a try some day, but there are too many in my household (my family) to justify all those towels on a regular basis. I think I remember what it was like to be a bachelor
. I usually have a nice hot shower and then shave away.

for towels i just use the ones in the car washing section at wal mart... they are terry and larger than regular washrags but a tad smaller than hand towels.... getting a towel that is special for shaving seems like a waste. but i'm a nubo
