Thanked: 398First shave with custom Josh Earl Razor..
Hey guys,
So I just finished my first shave with my new Josh Earl 5/8 spike point razor! The thing is absolutely gorgeous! Perfect weight, balance and style. Unfortunately I didn't have much to shave so I couldn't fully appreciate the quality of this thing.
Do you guys sometime find that a 'shave ready' razor will constantly out-perform any other of your razors?

Great stuff & congratulations on the acquisition!
What are you doing trying to shave with razors that aren't shave ready though?!
Don't hold back with the photo's! Show it off!

Thanked: 398It was! The feeling was totally different than my other razors (in a good way). Even though the blade is a 5/8 spike point, it almost felt like a wedge. I don't have pictures with me but Josh has some on his website.
here's the link. The blade is absolutely fantastic!!

it's the black one with the blue spacer.

Thanked: 398well it sorta is yeah. I feels completely different than my dovo special or my frederick reynold. The razor feels way stiffer. I think I'm really going to like it. I like this stiffer feels, it even makes a different sound when it goes through whiskers. I think I'm gone wait until Sunday night before I shave again to give my beard time to grow. The weather is still pretty crappy here, still -25 every day.

The Dovo Special is a hollow isn't it, so it would feel different? The wedges don't make much noise in comparison. It's a great razor & that's a lovely story of how you came to get it! Enjoy a lifetime of shaving with it mate.
-25! That's cold!
