    Default New Feather Razor

I tried out a new feather razor this morning and cut my face to shreds. I have been shaving with a straight razor for 17 years and never cut myself so much even when I was first learning. Any ideas what I might have been doing wrong or how I should hold or angle the blade to avoid cutting myself? By the way, the blade was so sharp I never even felt the cuts until I saw the blood seeping through the soap.

I think switching from a real straight razor to a feather might be the answer you are looking for. Shaving with a feather is nothing like shaving with a straight.
