Thanked: 19Method Shaving and Straight shaving?
Anyone ever done a "Method" shave with a straight razor? Or use a "Method shaving mix" for straight shaving? I'm curious about the results and review? Especially how Hydrolast products perform with a straight razor.

Method shaving has a cult type following and the system does seem to give a good shave but it seems it was started to promote proprietary products that had to be used. Traditional wet shaving methods such as good prep and a good shave soap or cream or both work just as well or better. You be the judge. You spend your money on their products or not.

Thanked: 19haha bj, you're absolutely right. check out my post under the shaving forum called "Whaaaat?". Its in a similar vein. I was just curious if anyone had used their products with a straight shave. I'm not planning on buying 4 different products simply to make a lather when my $7 tube of proraso works wonders

Why bother? I get great shaves with my own method.

One of the barber shops down here in Austin (where Enchante is located) worked with Charles on a variation of the paste for straight shaving and does all of her straight razor shaves using the Hydrolast line in her shop. I have used it from time to time and there are several straight users who use the Hydrolast line regularly for straight rzor shaving.

Seems like a waste of time and money to me.

And that's because you never spend too much money on this hobby now, right? I think I suffer from every AD there is.
If you haven't tried it, don't knock it. If the scents could match Mama Bear, I probalby always use Hydrolast as the slickness and effect on your skin is absolutely unmatched.
