I had to read it over to really get what you mean, but it makes perfect sense: a "straight line" on skin that is stretched mightn't be a straight line when the skin falls back into its normal position. So, set the line with the blade while the skin is still unstretched. Smart!

Some of the other newer multiblade shaving planes (that's what they really are isn't it: tiny planes with multiple tiny irons) have an extra lame fitted to the top back side too. Not much use though: maybe wide enough for most side-burns, but not for beards or goatees. And I have to agree with Flyboy about the clogging.
