Do you use more than a 30 angle on your ATG neck passes? It seems like you use an aggressive stroke. I have a heavy beard and it seems I can't get smooth on my neck unless I use a heavy angle. Should I stop doing this? It is damaging to the blade?

no, i don't use more than 30 degrees. if anything, a bit less (shallower angle). a very high blade angle can make the blade need stropping more frequently, it could possibly roll the edge. if the lower angle won't remove hair, I would suspect your razor isn't sharp enough.

ok thanks for the response. I have a 120 GOTTA that OLD SCHOOL sold to me and honed, shaves great except on my neck ATG, it gets caught. I also have a WAPI from KEN RUP that does the same thing.

I did start shaving in 6th grade so I think my beard is really tough.

I should mentioned that the shave is FINE it's just not BBS when I rub against the grain on my neck. I had to do 4-5 touch ups with a DE (open comb) and a feather blade to get near BBS.
