Just when you think you have it all figured out, well if you have been shaving for a while you know the answer. I thought having a heavy black Mediteranean beard that the only razor i needed was a good old wedge. Wrong. That stayed in my head for months up until yesterday when I got the best shave of my life off a blade that was very hollow and smaller than a 5\8. One of the members had advised that another member not sell off there hollow ground razors and now I know why. As technique develops, rules change.

I know what you mean. I love the big wedges but I love the smaller full hollows too. To me it is like the difference between driving a big pickup as opposed to a sports car. Just depends on the mood I'm in.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I like the pickup truck sports car analogy. The feedback that a nimble razor gives is important for developing the proper strokes. Also, the smoothness of the wedge although very comfortable, leaves me with only seeing the results but not knowing how I got there to a lesser degree.
