Sombody in one of the other boards had the idea to use an aluminum bowl. You can fill up your sink with hot water and float your lather to keep it hot.

I use a very thick ceramic soup mug from the grocery store. I fill it up with very hot water when I get in the shower and let it sit. When I get out and shave, it keeps the lather very hot the whole time(it takes me forever to shave).

I use one of those hot shots, fill up a mug of water, soak my brush in it while showering, then pour the rest on a wash rag to soak my face, lather up, brush is filled with hot water, soap is hot, face is happy.
