    Default Shave #3

Well this was my closest shave yet!

But from shave one to shave three i cut myself more lol. I thought I got lucky the first shave but I think i was just being timid. I also don't think it was a good idea to purchase a spike pointed razor as my learning blade.

I learned on a spike and have never had a problem with them. Actually, round points freak me out because I don't know where the edge finishes.

Same here, I like spikes better but I did learn on a round point.

I started real slow with WTG only and finished with a DE razor at first to get my confidence and hand eye coordination up to speed. After nine months it's bbs smooth 90% of the time with no irritation and rarely any nicks.

I think spike points just look better. The better the razor looks the more enjoyable the shave.

I THINK that the only place I am catching myself more then I should is with the spike point on my cheeks.... I am not really having the same problem anywhere else.

    practice makes perfect I suppose.

I agree; aesthetically, the spike pointed razor pleased me the most which is why I bought it. I have ordered 1 french point (a wapi) and one rounded dovo that were both good looking blades to me. I have a very angular face and I am getting used to shaving into the nooks. There is one more blade that I have in mind for myself on the bay and I'll be done buying for a while lol. 4 blades in month I found a new way to waste money.

I also learned (or should I say "am learning) on spike points. I have at least 5 of them. For me, skin stretching is important so you don't catch yourself on that edge. If you skin is taut, you can't really dig in. Pay special attention to that next time... you'll see what I mean.

I also like the spike points for shaving the moustache area. I find it gets into those corners well and gets the hairs that are hard to reach with the long part of the blade.

    Cheers,

    Ogie
