Found a local barbershop that does straight shaves
Hey guys, get this. I'm trying to get a proper pompadour haircut, right now I can get it coiffed but have to blow dry it up, I think the cut is part of the problem. in my search I find a shop in town, also advertises "traditional straight razor shaves".
I dropped by there, I like the place, small, one barber, lots of ink, in the case he has the pomades, a straight, hone and strop (I think for display). I grabbed their little flyer with phone number. *Special $20 haircut with face shave!!!!! I've gotta try this place out.
so I asked him, did he have to use the straight with the disposable blade or could I bring my own. he said,"do you have one?" a bit surprised, I just gave the faint smile and "yes". he said to bring it so he could check it out, I'm guessing he figures it isn't shave ready.
my question is this, I've never shaved with a disposable type straight, should I try that out or just take one of mine in and ask him to use it? He said something about being able to do both, but I'm not sure if that meant he could use my straight or that he had real straights too, I think that's probably not allowed in CA.
anyways, I'm very excited!! a barbershop shave and haircut for 20 bones! and the higher my hair has gotten the more compliments, I got three today at lunch!.
