I did try a little trim with My straight UHUMM!!! down there and no injury. I am still a little passive about doing a normal shave to that area. So for now I will keep the throw away blades for those shaves. One day I am sure I will get it all done with a straight.

Real men have the bikini area waxed. Kidding aside, I shaved my legs from ankle to knee when I was in my twenties once. I was (and still am) an avid bicyclist and that was the motivation. I found it to be too much of a hassle to maintain. Since then I have had numerous incidences of road rash, deep abrasions and cuts from bicycle wrecks on and off road. My shins are all scarred up. Not being shaved wasn't an issue as the hair gets ripped away with the meat.

As for electrolysis, I have worked with a plastic surgeon on laser tattoo removal and he told me that he doesn't do laser hair removal because it doesn't work. At least not long term. I don't know about the electrolysis.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

This is an old wives' tale. There is no evidence (aside from what people 'think' happens) that supports this claim. I am the hairiest dude in the room at all times since about the 8th grade and after shaving my chest all through high school (competitive swimming year-round) everything grew back the same way it had before.

Now that I'm older I shave everything again for the same reasons cessna said -- it looks better. For the single guys, ask 10 (young, 21 to 30 years old) women what they prefer and at least 8 of them will say "no hair".

Of course, I'm not saying doing what a woman prefers is ever a reason to do anything, but if you are trying to "get in good" with one, it certainly helps.

Thanks for the input guys. I just got my bike back, and I'll admit, I was contemplating it. Now that I've given it some thought (and taken a look at myself in a mirror) I seriously doubt I'll be shaving my legs. But hey, you never know; I've done some crazy things in the past...

If you shave your legs, how far down do you go? Would you shave your ankles? Would you shave the tops of your feet? How about the toes? I'm assuming everyone else here has hairy feet and hairy toes.

I would just go to the ankles. I do have hair on my feet, but it's not that noticeable.

I think shaving body hair is the biggest mistake a Male can make, because once you start, you always have to do it, otherwise you start to look like Chewbacca. I'm 46. I've been shaving my back now for 12 years. Now, I can't stop. Who ever I'm dating has to do this for me at least every two weeks, Now that's Love...I think to get Electrolysis done would be so costly, I just don't even think about it. I hear to have your back done would cost thousands....
ARE YOU SAYING THIS BECAUSE THE BELIEF IS THAT IF SHAVEN THE HAIR GROWS BACK THICKER OR MORE ABUNDANTLY.

NOT TRUE SHAVING DOES NOT INCREASE THE NUMBER OR SIZE OF HAIR FOLICLES
Consider where you will spend ETERNITY !!!!!!

I'm asking myself why, why did I ever click on this thread?

I'm left feeling confused and slightly uneasy...
