Default Got my mom in on the goodness!

After weeks of bewildered looks while watching me shave with straights, she decided to see what the fuss was all about.

Long story short: She now has a full old Durham Duplex kit with both safety and strop attachments and I'm making glycerin soaps for her. Ha ha ha... that was easy!

Now she encourages me to pick up old razors anytime I see them.

Interesting, I have been looking into the history of shaving and from what I have found women have not typically used straight razors.

Well... this has certainly been an adventure. I wonder when she'll move up to a REAL straight. A local shop has a 4/8 ladies razor for $28 in great condition...
