    Default Soooo smooth

Wow! I finally was able to get a shave that gave me a finish as smooth as my 2 yr old's butt. Very impressive indeed. Throughout the day I kept on feeling my cheeks, reminding the days when I did not have any hair there. After going through all the hollows in my rotation (which I was getting closer and closer to BBS everyday), today I used one of my Wapis and got this incredible shave!

I know everyone who gets that close shave posts about it here and I find it redundant to add to it, but I see that it's something that you have to talk about...

Congratulations on a great result. The "faceturbating" that follows a really BBS shave is something most of us do. Not something I talk about out in the general population, but here among friends...why not. I'm glad it's going so well for you. Keep us updated.

Well, I've been using a shavette for a few years and just started a few weeks ago using some real straights instead. The transition went really well with the Wapis, but I'm still adjusting the hollows I have.

    Here's my prep:

Hot shower, proraso pre-shave, autruche shaving soap lathering then stroping while everything sits on my face. Today, after the 1st pass, I stropped again to see if it would go a little easier than other times for the ATG pass. It went really well, I managed to do ATG on the Fool's Pass using this reverse razor grab I can't remember the name of. Cleaned up everything, a bit of alum block, rinsed again and used proraso a/s. I also had George Brassens playing the whole time for ambiance. That's about it!

I think many here have noticed that it's easier to go ATG with a slightly stiffer blade (like the Wapi) than a full hollow.

I'm working on a project that comes from a similar experience. One day, the right combination of razor, prep, lather, technique AND music, and my face was smooth and sweet. Not all music is appropriate, but when it is, boy does it go so well!

I had one of those shaves yesterday. My poor wife..."honey, feel my face" all evening long.

    Default BBS

I get BBS results every time I shave and I love the smooth feeling it gives. The results are well worth the effort of learning to straight shave and once you arrive to getting BBS results everyday and knowing how to maintain your blade, there is no going back!

    Jean Francois,
Allo! Félicitations.....Tres Bien! You should have been playing Jean Leloup's Petit de fleur, or Malajube's Montreal -40c.....that's what I play for background music when I shave.

The Fools Pass, I do this everyday, not for the faint hearted, but doesn't bother me at all, I find it necessary for a true bbs.

    cheers
