Thread: A picture of "scary straight"

Bought a Swaty and did 5 passes with lather. The blade was just fine before that, just wanted to see what it would do. The first shave I cut myself 3 times, but they were minor. The second time I only used it for the ATG pass and got a good sized gusher.

I need to smooth it out on the NOS Thuringian immediately!

EDIT: Damn, didn't even get the title right. Was supposed to be "scary sharp". 'doh

5 passes is that your normal routine? Did you lap the swaty after you bought it? The small scratches under the bloody gob looks like your edges became damaged, almost serrated.

Yeah, used the DMT 325. It arrived very flat, didn't take long at all to remove the pencil lines.

Damn man! That sucks! I'd be doing a TPT and/or looking at it with some magnification to see if there's something going on with your edge.

I'm always amazed how whenever the blood flows for anyone in this forum, their first thought is "where's my camera?"

At 60x the edge still looks perfect. Bought it from ZethLent, and it was honed on natural JP stones - no scratch marks at all.

I didn't need to run it over the Swaty, I just got excited by my new toy and wanted to try it out.
