Thanked: 6Another one bites the dust!
Hey folks, I'm proud to say I converted my first person (out of what I hope to be many) to straight razor shaving. He's listened to me rant and rave about it for the couple of months I've been doing it, and he ordered himself a Dovo shavette to give it a try. He's a fellow prior service Marine like me, so he appreciates a good shave. Out of all the people I've talked to about SR shaving, he was one of like two that didn't say "you'll cut your thoat, man!" I'm trying to get him to join up here, so he has some support and learning tools at his disposal. So, lets hope the wholesome goodness of straight shaving continues to spead up here in Kentucky.

Great job on the convert! The more Marines that are around the better I feel.

Thanked: 21It's funny, because I'm in an Army unit of weapons instructors. We have quite a few gun nuts, and a couple of blade buffs. None of them are interested in using a straight on their own faces. Even the guy that never has fewer than 3 blades on him at any given time seems terrified of putting a straight to his face. I don't get it.

Many of my buddies look at me like im crazy when i tell them that i use a straight. I swear some marines are such babies. I like useing the straight because it gives me less irritation on my neck when i have to wear my dress blue alpha/bravos and my service alphas/bravos. I still have to use a disposable in the field though
