    Default First time ATG

I shaved for the first time against the grain. I actually was not planning to do it but getting the hair under my lower lip is really hard so i just shaved up and it came out really smooth. Since i already started i might as well finish doing it. On my second pass I started out with my cheeks and sideburns then went to my chin. I didnt want to do my mustache area because its pretty scary so i just went XTG. But my whole face it completely smooth and it turned out amazing. When i was done i just said "WOW." But to go off topic I just bought my second razor. Its a Joseph Elliot 6/8 wedge barber's notch. Cant wait till it comes. Thanks Manah!

It is "scary" indeed the frist times going ATG, but it was also the first time you grab the straight razor to shave with it! Just take some time to learn the best way to approach every area, I am still at it!

It is really an amazing experience to look back and see how far you have come when you approach this art slowly and steadily. Enjoy your success.

Remember to reduce the angle for the ATG strokes.

Thanks for sharing. The smooth "wow" feeling never gets old. My mustache area was the last to get the ATG pass. The mustache sides still produce a weeper or two, but it alway feels super smooth and I still get the "wow" feeling.
