Ok I gave it a GO this evening...
Ok so when I came home today my box was waiting for me. I knew it was what I was looking forward to....the razor was here from Straight Razor Designs!
I opened everything up, went into the bedroom where I would not be disturbed and checked it out.
The razor was looking awsome, gave it the arm hair test and the hairs fley off making a little pop! WOW was it shave ready! Thanks Tony!
After dinner, washing the car and a few other chors it was time to take the shower and give it a try!
Made my lather/creame took the shower, preped to give it a go, I gave the Strop a few SLOW passes prior to shaving.
After a few moments just adjusting my grip I gave the side burns a GO. At first it seemed almost sticky or hanging up. Then it felt like it was pulling, I adjusted my grip and the angle again and it was nice and smooth. Straight down on both side burns with no Problem!! WOW was I happy.
I gave the cheeks a little go towards the corners of the mouth, it too as uneventful. Nice and smooth. I did a little under my chin, a straight run down my neck in the front and it was a little stop and go.
At this point I had to think back to the WIKI and said to myself, Lets not push it!
I did great for the first run with the Straight razor! No nicks, no razor burn, nothing!
I have to say, I am LOVING it!
Looking forward to my next shave.
Thanks to all!!
Definatly time for a refreshment...

Congratulations! That sounds like a very successful shave. You did the right thing buying a shave-ready razor from a reputable vendor like SRD. I'm sure you are looking forward to the next shave with it. On that note....I think it's time for my shower and shave!

Thanked: 293Nice job!
I just want to add one thing... for future reference and for any other new guys who are reading. That SRD-honed razor out of the box is ready for shaving. You don't need to strop.
BUT -- it sounds like you did a nice job, so good work and let us know how it goes next time.
Gratz,
Ogie
