Thanked: 171Interesting idea...
From time to time I'll add a few drops of vegetable glycerin to certain soaps before I whip em up and I like the effect. I might give this a try as well.
Jim, I disagree here. IMHO, not all lather is created equal. Sure, any good lather should provide enough cushion and lube for a comfy shave, but I've definitely found certain soaps and lather that work better than others. I definitely wouldn't mind sprucing up some of my lower performing soaps, or even finding a way to make my best performing soaps perform even better. I'm not saying this is it, just saying that I don't mind finding even better lather.

Thanked: 293So what do you tell your other half when she sees the lube is diminishing at a rate faster than you've been using it for the "extracurriculars"?

Absolutely, some lather IS mediocre. And some is just bad. That's why I said "good" lather. Arko creams give SUPER lube, but crap protection--bad lather. Williams dries my face out. Bad lather.
If you have to add sexlube to make your lather work for you, then you mihgt benefit from learning how to make lather, is all I'm saying.

Thanked: 171The key phrase here is "have to". I completely agree with you in that case. If you have to add anything to your lather to make it work for you, then you have problems with your soap, water, brush, or ability to make lather. BUT, I took this post more as a "this will make your already good lather even better," in which case, without having tried it, I really don't know if it will or won't, but I'm all for "even better" lather, so I'll probably give it whirl sometime

That's exactly what I think, but I got the feeling that the OP wasn't getting good shaves up to now. I guess I misunderstood.
I just think that the skills needed for a good shave include making good lather, so when I see newbies asking about how to get better shaves, "adding silicone lube" should come after "practice the necessary skills" in my book.
It's like jazz: first learn the basics, then get funky with it.

Thanked: 30SILICONE LUBRICANT
HELLO
Silicone lubricant is not your typical water based "KY" lubricant. It only takes a couple of drops in comparison to a big "dollop" of the "KY" type water based lubricants.

Thanked: 190Has this product left any marks on your straight blade or towels when drying your face? Does it stay around for a second or third pass or do you need to add more? Does it sting the face on the second/third application?
Does the scent of it get in the way of the pleasant smells of a Bay Rum, Amber, or Almond Scent from shaving soaps?

HELLO
The silicone does not leave any marks on the blade or the towel. It lasts until you wash it off with soap and water and in not affected by plain water. It has no scent and has no irritating qualities ( REMEMBER WHERE IT IS DESIGNED TO BE USED. VERY DELICATE TISSUES !!!! ). You can pick up small single application samples at most adult stores. If you don't have one near you let me know and I will try to ship you one to try.
