Default A new kind of face pain...

So last night I was shaving with a blade that I know is scary sharp, close to BBS WTG. (also worth mention is its the only blade I've gotten back from honemeisters that will pass the HHT with my fine hairs) But for my mustache and chin ATG is necessary IMO to get the shave I want. So I'm shaving and shaving and notice that a few of my pores are bleeding. What the ****? and upon examination they are now in danger for ingrown hairs... the hair is lopped off below the skin. What on earth happened, and what are causes for this? What did I do wrong/what can I do to prevent this in the future?
    Thanks...

My first two guesses would be too high of an angle and too much pressure. After that, maybe dry lather? (How was your lather?)

very wet (not too wet, just the opposite of dried out). That issue was solved.

Glad to hear that your lather has improved. So I would guess pressure or angle; when on your face were you shaving? Upper lip and chin are both difficult areas with regards to both pressure and angle.

I think that you used too much pressure, likely because the razor you were using was not sharp enough before. The thing to do is just to shave with the razor barely touching the skin and letting the razor do its job, adding more pressure is a recipe for all sorts of problems.

Definately not too much pressure. And I am used to sharp blades, I have three from Utopian and one from Sham that I have been shaving with for over two weeks/3months now so....
I think it may have been angle. Its the upper lip. Normally I'm good with angle there though.

Well maybe too much pressure, but I am not TRYING to use any pressure, and this was my favourite shaver, I use it every other shave....

Yup, upper lip is a very tricky spot. I go XTG there, but not ATG. Double check how you contort your lip when shaving this area. I find that when I'm stretching my lip, I roll it down and in over my front teeth. When going WTG, this makes me likely to use a shallow angle; but if I was going ATG, I would be likely to use a steep angle. Not sure how easy that will be to follow without a visual aid...

I think that's exactly what went wrong! Thanks!
Does anyone know if the bleeding pore thingies will result in ingrowns? How do I best deal with them if so?
