I wandered in to a new barber shop for my last haircut and since I noticed that he does shaves, conversation turned in that direction. When I told him I used a straight he looked at me oddly and asked why would I want to do that. I told him it gave me a better shave and he tested my face and was impressed. He uses an electric and thinks there's no real difference to any razor out there.
Later conversation turned to lathering and I mentioned that i used a brush and bowl and he laughed and said "oh, you shave a hundred years ago."
He also insisted that you couldn't restore an old razor, but I didn't try to argue that with him.
