At the gym, I sometimes get some looks of interest, more often than not the shave zombies don't seem to notice.

One guy asked me about it. Said he hadn't seen a straight razor since back in the 60's when some guy pulled one out of his sock in a dark alley and demanded the guy's wallet.
    I sit while I drivel

    Oh, I've got pet peeves...

People using "str8" (Or, heaven forfend, ST8!!!) instead of taking the time to type the word. I mean, we take the time to strop and shave every morning, the extra 1/8 second to type "straight" won't hurt anything.

The patches on my neck and beside my chin that JUST. WON'T. GET. SMOOTH.

    My main pet peeves are:

The spot on my jaw right behind where it curves. Invariably I miss a few hairs there. Last time I shaved, I put a nice slice back there trying to get them all.

People that don't understand what the hell they're talking about (really in any subject) and begin pontificating on a mode of shaving that they themselves have never tried.

"You going to kill anyone with that later?" 'Nuff said.

    I've got peeves as well:

Guys who post up pics of recent scores that happen to include a razor that I've been looking for for ages.

    See? SEE?

See how this guy is rubbing it in my face!

He knows I like stainless. I have a Tuckmar, a Dovo, Friodurs, Weltmeister, Elsava, Bethleham Star, Hess 44, no-name Eishartung, I tried a Helje stainless (blade was too small however...). The other INOX blades I'm looking for to add to the collection would be a Puma INOX, and the Filly. And those are both rare birds.

    Peeved?

    Oh yes!

I guess my only shaving related peeve is the fact that the grain on the right side of my neck goes in such a way that it CANNOT be shaved ATG. Scything XTG does about as well as can be done, but it's still not perfect.
