Thanked: 13247In a drawer, in the bathroom you are going to shave in...
On a non-skid mat that allows air to circulate...
I live in Nth Idaho where the humidity level is 20-50% so it is pretty much average...I dry them leave them open overnight and oil them before I close them.... I have never had a problem using this system...

I dry mine, and leave them on a night stand next to my bed, in a tooth brush stand. I don't like leaving them in the bathroom where there will be high humidity. Some people may have no trouble, but I live in a house with one wife and 2 daughters. Long shower wall dripping humidity I am suprised the crome does not rust.

IMHO: If you have small kids - as far away from them as possible and usually that is up high and out of sight.
For me, locked up in a drawer at the absolute top of my dresser. In time, they will also go to a locked box in a locked drawer.
I have two very young, active and curious children whom I do not want ever getting into trouble with these. Granted, I will teach them about how I use them and how to handle razors properly in time but at the end of the day, kids are still kids and accidents happen. Whatever I can do to mitigate the possibility of something like that, I will do.
Since they are put away, They are sprayed with camelia oil before going into the holder but I don't deal with as much humidity as others.
In my house, it's all about safety.

I have an area on top of a High dresser that I keep all my shaving supplies. I keep no razors in the bathroom (due to the humidity) and due to the children factor of curiosity (not my kids but the friends).
When on top of the dresser they are in a large watch box so they are out of sight.

Thanked: 735Keep it in your shoe like Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.
Badder than Ol King Kong, meaner than a junkyard dog...
Other than that, dry it fastidiously, strop it a few times, and if you won't be using it the next day, oil it up.

Mine are hanging on a rack in a 1/2 bath where I shave. So there isn't any shower/bath to create humidity. When the nieces and nephews visit I hide them in a Tupperware tub, high on a shelf. Eventually I'd like to make a lock box to store them safely, when the little ones come by for a visit.

I keep mine on a high, wide shelf in my bedroom.
They look better on display, and I don't have to worry about any possible humidity problems from the bathroom.

Since I have no kids, for now, on a small pillow, on my dresser opened until it dries, then back in the box placed on top of the pillow.

Where is the best place . . .
Gentlemen,
I store some of my straight razors on the sink counter in a converted smoking pipe rack and the rest in a coffee cup I bought from Harrods in London — the cup has sentimental value. In my modest condominium, the shower and the sink are in two separate rooms. In essence, therefore, my razors face relatively little humidity.
Yet, change is coming. I have a six-month old grandson, and grandsons grow up and become curious about things, especially if they look like a folding knife with a shiny blade. So I will have to look for another place to store my razors.
Regards,
Obie
