So... I've worked my way up from a beater razor, VDH set and Levi strop to a good rotation, decent strop, badger brush and a few small accoutrements.
Now what needs to improve is the lather. I have sampled some custom creams from a member here, and will be putting in an order as soon as I can. I also currently have Rivivage Soap (Gold-dachse) and Proraso Cream. However... I think I have SSAD/SCAD.

My main question is about Mitchell's Wool Fat.
-I know about the lather issue (have it or don't) but is it possible to work through it if one is determined enough?
-The container it comes in- could one lather, or at least start a lather, on the puck and move to one's face?
-I know this is somewhat iffy, but is soap resale possible? If I get some, don't like it, use 90%, would I be able to recoup some of my losses? Is there a sample size anywhere?

The main reason I ask is I found a Dish and Soap, new in box, on sale for a little over $30, and seeing as this is normally $50 (soap normally $20) I thought I might like to give a $20 soap a try.

Also, from what I've tried, creams and soaps yield the same end result, and its somewhat easier for me to use creams right now (put a dollop in my bowl and walk to the bathroom) but I far prefer the soaps (weird right?) so far.
