Wiping str8 during shaving

Hello. What is the "correct" recommended way to wipe a str8 razor during shaving, please?

Generally, I'm a rinser myself.
But there are occasions that I decide to wipe the razor instead, on tissue or a towel. Slow going, with very light/no pressure, I lead with the spine, wiping across and somewhat down. Not unlike an X motion when stropping.

I use warm wet toiletpaper, back leading pushing up.

I usually fold a wet washcloth in half and wipe on that. I start at the edge and work inward wiping the cream/soap in a spine-leading motion like stropping.

I'm with Kyle. I fold a damp washrag in half, lie it on the counter with the folded edge JUST on the edge of the counter. I wipe the razor, heel to toe, in a downward motion from the edge of the countertop, slightly sweeping away from the edge. No pressure.

I usually rinse also but at the end I do wipe by using the hot towel folded up and leading with the spine in a diagonal motion.

I wipe the razor off on the towel that I used to steam my face. I keep it very warm to warm the blade.

I wipe my str8 on a terry face cloth folded four times. I don't rinse my blade for three reasons: 1) you might ding your blade on the tap or sink; 2) it leaves too much water on the blade (assuming you don't wipe it, in which case why rinse?) and thus it tends to negatively affect the lather on your face; 3) I like to keep water off my blades. Wiping your blade keeps the razor drier and helps reduce corrosion.
