Default If you heard a loud scream around 10pm EDT...

it was most likely me putting the aftershave on my head and face.

3rd or 4th head shave - got further but still not completely - got the whole top and 2 sides with the straight edge - the back had to be mowed down by electric clippers, than shave with a 26 blade fusion or something and than, the remaining stubbles was removed with the straight.

Honestly, I tried 3 different straights - a wedge that was honed by a honemeister - a small 5/8 full hollow gumbo special (thats what I call it now) and a turner and company wedge - again honemeistered.

none of the razors could get through 1/4 inch thick stubble on my head. My head has been compared to to bristly foot scrubbers northeasterners put by there doors in the winter time to scrape the snow and crud off your boots before you go into the house.

although - once the heavy lifting was out of the way, the straights worked fine with the stand out and the more forgiving of all of them being the gumbo special full hollow. I'll have to keep working at this and maybe keep up on shaving the head daily - but I know this is gonna crush the edge on the straights most likely needing to be honed in about a month - 2 months - I am not lying how coarse my hair is. I had to break in the middle and take a few passes over the pasted felt and than 20/40 strop cotton/SRD PremimumII and during the last bit, I threw 3 passes on the barber hone just to make it through to the end.

well - at least one good thing that came out of tonight was I figured out how to make a fierce lather on my head - just grab the soap bar, run it under hot water, lather your hands up and hand lather onto your face, than take the brush to your face to finish it out - amazing results. Plus for a full head shave, this covered massive ground quickly.

the other 2 lessons I learned is that angle of attack is everything on a head shave or it just will not work - at all.

when you get a new barber hone in the mail, don't drop it on the floor and break the entire upper quarter - not good.

    thanks for reading

Wow, you are one messy shaver. I happen to love the sting of aftershave but I really am strange like that.

messy? LMAO - that was cleaned up

It looked like a razor got into a fight with a gorilla in the bathroom and a 1/2 bald gorilla emerged from the midst with a razor passed out on the floor in the background.

boy did I get it this am when the wife walked into the bathroom
