Rolls Royce for my Styptic Pencil
Gentlemen,
I had been searching everywhere for a little travel container for my styptic pencil. As you well know, the styptic pencils come in paper-think plastic tubes, or in nothing at all, and before you know it, the dinky cap comes off and the styptic pencil starts exploring your dopp kit.
Nothing was out there that would work. Toothbrush travel tubes were too long, and plastic soap containers too bulky. You mean no one's ever thought of coming up with something solid that would hold a little old styptic pencil? I kept asking myself.
This morning I turned to my daughter and asked what she would recommend. "Oh, Daddy," she declared, "that's simple." She then poked around the little supply bag she carries around for my infant grandson and pulled out a little tube of something. "There," she said. "That should do it."
Gentlemen, it was a 3-oz. sterile plastic milk storage bottle that was slightly longer than the styptic pencil with a big enough diameter to hold one fat styptic pencil or two skinny ones.
Voila! I have my Rolls Royce transporter for the styptic pencil. There is no denying the young mothers' practical wisdom.
Regards,
Obie

Rollys Royce for my Stuptic Pencil
My dear Kent,
Thank you for your note.
The idea of the bottles is the same. Mine, however, is an actual baby milk storage mini bottle with measurements and all. It's a cute little thing. Of course, I am delighted with this new discovery that finally ends a long search.
Some of the little bottles you show also could work. They are a good idea and more readily available for the general public. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 2I like liquid styptic they sell now, I think Pacific Shaving has one. No mess associated with regular styptic, and does not need any extra containers.

Excellent idea. Along the same lines, my styptic after a few uses, resembles a piece of coral, rough and gnarled. Is there a way to keep them fairly smooth?

Rolls Royce for My Styptic Pencil
My dear Wayne,
I apply styptic pencil on the cut by rolling it horizontally near the point, as if turning a pencil in the sharpener. That prevents jagged edges.

Thanked: 199I saw some styptic powder for people on Amazon, but what are your thoughts on the styptic powder you can buy for pets?
AFAIK it's the same stuff, anyone tried it or have thoughts on it?
