It's About Time
My dear TheBaron,
I bought the VDH combination mug, soap and brush for $7, a deal hard to miss. After using the soap once, I threw it away. The brush is used occasionally. Then I had a bright idea for the mug: I place it on top of an apothecary mug filled with hot water to keep the soap warm. It works. Currently the green mug holds a Truefitt & Hill soap.
By the way, the razors in the rack are, from right to left: 5/8" Thiers-Issards kingwood, black bone and snakewood. The fourth razor in the rack is a 6/8 Wacker Spanish point "Antik."
The razors in the cup are, from right to left: 6/8" Dovo "Renaissance," 5/8" Dovo "Perlex," Feather AC and 5/8" Boker "Edelweise." Two more new razors are on the way. It's a modest and functional collection.
The DE's are, from right to left: Edwin Jagger "barley," Cyril Salter with black ebony handle, and Edwin Jagger mock ivory. I still used them once or twice a month to keep in touch, or when I am really pressed for time.
It's a small corner of paradise, but it's mine and I am happy with it.
Regards,
Obie

I bought the VDH set for the same reason, still using it till I can afford better soap and brush.
Thanks for that idea of using the bowl on top of a warming bowl, that is a great idea, I'm gonna do the same.

I got to be honest. The razors and the rack are the only thing that really caught my attention...but a nice rack always catches my attention!
